Jackie Levitt(aka Jacqueline or jaxamuse)is a Toronto based Artist, Educator, and Community Organizer. Her artistic practice is multi disciplinary, and she works in a variety of traditional and new media formats. She has a Bachelor of Design from OCAD University in Toronto, where she completed a studio-based degree in Illustration, Design History, and Cultural Theory.

 

Live Visuals/VJ Video Performance: Using original, primary source video and a digital projector, JAXAMUSE creates dynamic spaces through projecting moving images on unique screens and surfaces. Some past performance highlights include: COSMic Ball with Alex & Allyson Grey, Tonal Topography with Android Jones, Eclipse Summer Electronic Music Festival, The Wheel of Time with Beats Antique, Live Body Painting with Ron English and Fiona Smyth, SUMA's Chakra Series Events.

Visual Art Education: Jackie is a CERTIFIED TEACHER who specializes in Visual Art Education, Holistic Education, and Education for Social Justice. She has been an Arts Educator at the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO), TIFF Bell LightBox (in conjunction with the Tim Burton Exhibition), the Toronto District School Board (TDSB), and the Ontario Ministry of Education.
