Jacqueline Levitt (a.k.a jackie) is a Toronto based artist, educator, and community organizer. From gouache and mixed media illustrations to giant papermache puppets, her work is richly textured, organic, and celebratory. She has a Bachelor of Design from the Ontario College of Art and Design, 2004, where she did a studio-based undergraduate degree in Illustration, art history, and cultural studies. She strives to create beautiful work that is imaginative, inspiring, and inclusive. Her illustration clients have included The Ontario Government, Ontario Women's Directorate, The Toronto Star, Curriculum Plus Publishing, Canadian Tire and KickAction.ca. Jackie is also a playful and patient Art Educator, and a CERTIFIED TEACHER with the Ontario College of Teachers. She did her Bachelor of Education at the University of Toronto, where she focused on Urban Education, Education for Social Justice, and Holistic Education. She has taught Visual Art at the Art Gallery of Ontario, in Public Schools in the Toronto District School Board, for the Ministry of Education's Student Success - Student Voice Forums, and in various community and educational settings around Canada.
